You can’t stop Jake “The Snake” Lewis, you can only hope to…sign him. And Altus Motorsports did.

Following Altus Motorsports’ best MotoAmerica season yet, which saw Cameron Petersen race the Altus Motorsports Suzuki GSX-R1000 to eight wins, the 2020 Stock 1000 Championship, and the 2020 Superbike Cup, the team knew they have a title-winning bike, but big shoes to fill when it comes to the rider.

Enter highly experienced road racer Jake Lewis, who the team expects will pick up right where Petersen left off in Stock 1000 and the Superbike Cup.

“Jake’s a proven talent, and we are incredibly lucky to be able to put him on our Stock 1000 bike,” commented Altus Motorsports team owner George Nassaney. “He already has experience on the Suzuki at the top level of MotoAmerica racing, and he will bring a lot to our team.”

Lewis will join the team for preseason tests in Texas and California as they prepare for the upcoming 2021 season.

“I thought road racing was done for me. I took a real job and started doing woods races on the weekend for fun,” Lewis said. “Sitting out last year was tough, though. I’m excited to get back on a proper bike, and I’m looking forward to gridding up.”

The Altus Motorsports racing team is supported by Altus Motorsports, Suzuki, VP Lubricants, RS Taichi, Arai, Moto D, Bonamici, Hotbodies Racing, SBS Brakes, Vortex, EK Chains, Motion Pro, Law Tigers Oklahoma, Dunlop, Team Hammer, and Altus Factory Racing.
