Cameron Beaubier crashed out of a heated battle in the Moto2 Grand Prix of Doha on Sunday.

It was a tough day at the office for Americans Joe Roberts and Cameron Beaubier in Qatar with the two Californians crashing out of the Grand Prix of Dohan at the Losail International Circuit today.

Roberts was the first to go, the Italtrans Racing rider crashing out of a fifth-place battle with IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia’s Ai Ogura on the seventh of 20 laps. Roberts was up on his feet immediately and returned to his pit box without injury.

Beaubier, meanwhile, was in a heated battle in a group from 11th to 20th and was in 14th when he crashed out on the ninth lap. Beaubier also escaped without injury and did so after turning in what would be the fifth fastest lap of the race – a 1:59.456.

Joe Roberts also had a rough day in Qatar with the Californian crashing out early in the 20-lap race.

The race was won for a second straight week by Brit Sam Lowes, the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team rider topping Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Remy Gardner by just .190 of a second. Third place went to Gardner’s teammate, class rookie Raul Fernandez.
