Biography
The most inspiring comeback in the paddock continues as Kevin Olmedo returns to the MotoAmerica Twins Cup for 2026. This season, the El Salvadorian talent joins Karns/TST Industries Racing, piloting the new Suzuki GSX-8R.
Olmedo’s journey is a testament to extraordinary resilience. After finishing eighth in the 2022 Supersport standings despite missing half the season, Kevin faced a life-altering battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome. The disorder left him temporarily unable to speak or move, forcing a grueling multi-year hiatus. After a brief, injury-shortened return in 2024, Olmedo is finally back at full fitness.
Before his illness, Olmedo was a perennial top-10 finisher in both Junior Cup and Supersport, highlighted by a podium at The Ridge. Now, armed with the Suzuki GSX-8R and his signature determination, the veteran returns to the Twins Cup grid ready to reclaim his position at the front of the field.
Little Known Fact: Kevin was a road racing and motocross champ in his native El Salvador.
