According to Italian website GPone.com, Danilo Petrucci may take over the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York Panigale V4 R vacated by Loris Baz for the 2022 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.

Petrucci, who currently rides for the Tech 3 KTM MotoGP team, has a deal in place with KTM to contest the 2022 Dakar Rally.

“I only recently heard about this MotoAmerica thing, it’s an idea,” Petrucci told GPone.com. “First, I have to talk to KTM since we already have a long-term project and, in the end, MotoAmerica excludes the Dakar and vice versa. So, I will have to evaluate everything. These are two things that I really like on a human level. On one hand there is the Dakar, on the other hand MotoAmerica, which would lead me to change my life and live in another country. For sure, either I do one thing or the other since both projects are supported by manufacturers so I can’t go around in an orange and red T-shirt (laughs). So, we will have to wait and see what happens.”

Baz, who finished fourth in the 2021 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship in his debut season in the series, is headed back to the World Superbike Championship where he will race a Bonovo MGM BMW.
