Prior to Joan Mir winning the MotoGP World Championship a few weeks ago in Spain, the last premier class World Champion to capture the crown on a Suzuki was Kenny Roberts Jr. in 2000. In doing so, Roberts Jr. joined his father Kenny Roberts in becoming the only father/son duo to win 500cc World Championships.
