The following is from Celtic HSBK Racing…
Round 2 of the MotoAmerica Series from Road America was certainly one for the record books. The Celtic / HSBK Racing team came back to the Wisconsin track after a month off and was ready to improve on their dominating performances in all three classes.
Sam Lochoff accomplished his goals of closing the distance to the leaders every session. His continued maturity showed with consistent performances leading to a podium finish in Jr. Cup Race 2. Brandon Paasch made significant strides forward in his attempt to solidify his position as a top contender in the Supersport class. With two brilliant 3rd place finishes and a pass on the outside of the carousel that will go down in racing lore, Brandon is firmly in 3rd position overall and within striking distance of 2nd.
The Stock 1000 team of PJ Jacobsen aboard his Ducati V4R suffered a catastrophic weekend. After spending the entire weekend toping the timing and scoring charts and winning the Superbike Cup Race 1 on Saturday, an incident during the morning warm-ups on Sunday brought the weekend to a premature end. PJ’s bike became engulfed in flames and forced PJ to abandon the motorcycle. PJ suffered burns and after being cleared from the local hospital was able to return to the track before heading home to NY. Despite the incident and injuries, PJ and the Celtic HSBK Racing Team is confident that he will return to reclaim his championship lead at Road Atlanta for Round 3.
