The year 2020 marked RideHVMC Racing’s and Corey Alexander’s first full season of MotoAmerica competition since 2015 and a very successful one at that. In twelve races, Corey and the team were able to finish on the podium a total of ten times, two of which were victories. This secured the #23 machine a second-place finish overall in the Stock 1000 Championship.
In addition, through Corey’s participation in the Superbike Cup, he was able to secure several top-ten finishes in the HONOS Superbike class with a best finish of sixth place. This secured Corey third overall in the Superbike Cup standings. Corey’s consistency over the course of the season is very much due to the outstanding work by the RideHVMC Racing crew, as well as the technical support provided by Graves Motorsports.
Corey commented, “I feel so fortunate to be able to see this season through especially with the level of success we were able to achieve. We’ve been able to do what we love, our dealership at home has seen growth, and people have more interest in motorcycles than in recent history. It’s been a bit of a silver lining during this tough year, and I’m hopeful things look even brighter in the future. I can’t wait to challenge for the 2021 Stock 1000 Championship. Thanks to all of our friends, family, fans, and partners for making this all possible”.
Racing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a less-than-easy logistical task. Thanks to the support of sponsors and the perseverance of the MotoAmerica organization, the RideHVMC Racing team was able to complete a full calendar with limited attendance and non-spectator events. All the while, online and TV broadcast viewership numbers nearly doubled over the previous season. Overall, 2020 was a successful year for RideHVMC Racing, the MotoAmerica Series, and the motorcycling community as a whole.
Team RideHVMC Racing looks to build upon the 2020 season with an expanded effort in 2021 that will see Corey return to the Stock 1000 class with the intention of securing the championship. Additionally, the prospect of expansion with the addition of a second rider is being explored if the right opportunity arises.
