Nelson<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>Attack Performance Yamaha\u2019s Cameron Petersen announced today on his social media channels that he won\u2019t be racing in the upcoming Daytona 200 as he continues to rehabilitate the broken wrist that ruined his 2023 MotoAmerica season.<\/p>
\u201cUnfortunately, I will be sitting out this year\u2019s Daytona 200,\u201d Petersen wrote. \u201cStill trying to get back to full fitness with the wrist. Absolutely gutted that I won\u2019t be lining up with the boys (and girls), but I will be back in 2025. For now, we focus on the big bike.\u201d<\/p>
In a text message conversation, Petersen said he is confident that all will be good for the opening round of the Steel Commander Superbike Championship at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on April 19-21, which is just over a month after the Daytona 200 on March 7-9.<\/p>
Petersen finished third in last year\u2019s Daytona 200, just .140 of a second behind race winner Josh Herrin, and was considered one of the pre-race favorites to win the race.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
