The Texan recorded the sixth-fastest lap of the day based on the combined results from two Free Practice sessions. Gerloff ended Free Practice 1 in 11th (1:35.756), but he improved in the afternoon’s Free Practice 2. While he and his team focused on long runs in FP2, Gerloff showed solid race pace and ended up sixth-fastest (1:34.605).<\/p>
“The day was not bad,” Gerloff said. “The leg is fine, and the P6 is a good result. Our pace is good even if we can improve. The test we did here certainly helped to find speed. The goals are the same, to make a good qualification and stay close to the leading group in the race. I also tried the new tire that Pirelli brought and I liked it. It seems to give more stability.”<\/p>
Gerloff will be back on track tomorrow morning for Free Practice 3 at 9:00 a.m. before Tissot Superpole qualifying at 11:10 a.m. and Race 1 at 2:00 p.m. All times local.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
