Italian rider Filippo Fuilgni, seen here aboard a Ducati Panigale V2, will race a V2 this weekend at COTA for Team HONOS.

Italian road racer Filippo Fuligni, who has raced in both the FIM Supersport World Championship and in the Italian Supersport National Championship (CIV), is a wildcard entry for Team HONOS this weekend at Circuit of The Americas. Fuligni will be racing a Ducati Panigale V2 in the penultimate round of the 2024 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship.

Previously, Fuligni raced a Ducati in the WorldSSP Challenge for the D34G Racing Team where he and his brother Federico competed during the European rounds. At Estoril in 2022, Fuligni suffered a pelvic fracture when he was struck by another rider in WorldSSP race two. This year, he’s been competing in the Italian Supersport Championship aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6 for the D&A Racing Team.

“I’m emotional and and excited,” Fuligni said about his wildcard ride at COTA this weekend. “It’s a great opportunity for a new adventure because this year in the Italian Championship, I didn’t have the results I was looking for. I’ve ridden the Ducati V2 in the past and, unfortunately, I had a bad accident. But, this time I’d like to redeem myself on top of the V2 and have a better experience.”

His ride with HONOS this weekend is sponsored, in part, by the Barni Spark Racing Team, who recently hosted Rahal Ducati Moto’s Kayla Yaakov in the Italian National Championship round at Mugello a couple of weekends ago.
