BellissiMoto Twins Cup rider Sonya Lloyd, who raced a Yamaha YZF-R7 for Giaccmoto Racing this past season, has been invited to compete in the final round of the 2024 FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship, which will take place at Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto on October 18 through 20. “I am ecstatic that I received this wildcard entry and a chance to race overseas in a World Championship event,” commented Lloyd. “Thanks to Giaccmoto Yamaha Racing for giving me such an amazing season in MotoAmerica Twins Cup. I feel prepared to take on this level of opportunity. Dale Quarterley will be joining me on this trip to coach me through the race weekend so we can keep on improving throughout. The support has been incredible from everyone, I can’t thank my friends and family enough!”

Lloyd will join fellow American Mallory Dobbs in Spain. Dobbs has been competing in the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship this entire season. The series utilizes spec Yamaha R7s, which is a bike that Lloyd has a lot of seat time on. She competed in the six-round, 12-race 2024 MotoAmerica BellissiMoto Twins Cup Championship.

The weekend schedule will include Superpole on Friday, Race 1 on Saturday, and Race 2 on Sunday.
