Americans Joe Roberts and Cameron Beaubier will start tomorrow’s Italian Grand Prix at the Mugello Circuit from the seventh and 18th spots on the grid, respectively, after both riders went straight through to Q2 after this morning’s FP3 session.
Roberts fared the better of the two in Q2, the Italtrans Racing rider lapping at 1:51.552 to move up to seventh and a third-row start for tomorrow’s Grand Prix on his final lap. American Racing’s Beaubier couldn’t match his lap times from FP3 that got him into Q2, and he will start the Grand Prix from the sixth row of the grid after lapping at a best of 1:52.656.
Beaubier’s American Racing teammate Sean Dylan Kelly’s weekend started with a crash on Friday, and he struggled during qualifying on Saturday. He will start at the back of the grid in tomorrow’s race.
