Privateer Kyle Wyman had a solid 2017 MotoAmerica season, the team owner/racer pulling double duty for the second time in the Motul Superbike class and he did so with results he could be proud of.
The New Yorker ended the season 10th in the MotoAmerica Motul Superbike Championship as his results improved throughout the season to the point where he put his Motovation USA/Lucas Oil/KWR Yamaha R1 on the podium in race two at New Jersey Motorsports Park in the penultimate round of the series.
“Obviously, I’m just super elated,” Wyman said after finishing second to Yoshimura Suzuki’s Toni Elias at NJMP. “This has been a very, very long road from racing Harleys and racing 600s, and not really having any success on 600s. I found the (Yamaha) R1 that I’ve fallen in love with now, and me and the team are all just working well together. Today was my day, and now I know I can do it. Hopefully, we can push hard from here and get one step further (for a win).”
