Ohioan Larry Pegram just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to race with MotoAmerica next weekend at his home track when AMA professional road racing makes its return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on August 16 through 18.

Competing for EasyHealthPlans.com/Top Pro Racing in Supersport last month at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the previous round of the 2024 MotoAmerica Championship, Pegram finished 15th and 11th, respectively, aboard his #172 Suzuki GSX-R750 in the weekend’s two races as he and his team worked diligently to develop the bike.

The progress he and the EasyHealthPlans.com/Top Pro Racing team made that weekend encouraged him to race the bike again, this time at his beloved Mid-Ohio, a track that’s located just an hour’s drive from his home.

“I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to race at a track that’s practically right in my backyard,” Pegram commented. “Especially given the fact that it’s been 10 years since the AMA last raced at Mid-Ohio, and this will be MotoAmerica’s first visit to my home track.”

A decade ago, at the AMA Superbike series’ last visit to Mid-Ohio, Pegram finished 8th and 13th, respectively, aboard his EBR 1190RS in the event’s two Superbike races.

“Big thanks to TopPro Racing’s Alex Arango and Agustin Sierra for giving me this opportunity to race in front of all my friends and family here in Ohio,” Pegram added. “We’re confident that the development work we did on the Suzuki at Laguna Seca will net us even better results next weekend at Mid-Ohio.”
