All of us at MotoAmerica offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Twins Cup racer Ray Hofman, who passed away peacefully with his loving wife Brenda and family surrounding him.

A “Sconnie” through and through who hailed from Waupun, Wisconsin, Ray worked for Sam’s Well Drilling for more than three decades. As an expert well driller, his tenacity and strong determination helped him keep the water flowing for a lot of thankful people in the upper Midwest.

But, it is his life as a motorcycle racer for which we will remember him most. Ray enjoyed making everything on two wheels go fast, and he won many Championships in ASRA and CCS. What made him most proud as a racer was competing aboard his #172 Aprilia RS660 in Twins Cup. Ray was able to notch an 8th-place race finish, along with a few other top-10 results, and he also had two Daytona 200 finishes to his credit on Supersport bikes. He just seemed to get faster and faster with each passing every year.

We will miss Ray’s fun-loving attitude the most. Ride on forever, Ray. And, Godspeed.
