Cameron Beaubier and Garrett Gerloff dominated Round 7 of the Wayne Rainey-led series
Pittsburgh International Race Complex will host the eighth round of the 2017 MotoAmerica Series. This first-time event, scheduled for August 25-27, will feature two full days of competition on a recently repaved, 19-turn, 2.78-mile road course located near the small Pennsylvania town of Wampum less than an hour’s ride from Pittsburgh.
Here, series photographer Brian J. Nelson provides a look back at some of the on-track action from two weeks ago at Round 7, the Championship at Sonoma Raceway. After finishing second in both Motul Superbike races in Northern California, Yoshimura Suzuki’s Toni Elias now holds a 70-point advantage in MotoAmerica’s premier class over two-time and defending champ Cameron Beaubier. Elias’ teammate, Roger Hayden, is third in the standings, another 10 points behind.
At PIRC, MotoAmerica television partner beIN SPORTS will broadcast all five classes—Motul Superbike, Bazzaz Superstock 1000, Supersport, Superstock 600, and the entry-level KTM RC Cup.
