When last we saw Colombian rider, Martin Cardenas, he had finished on the podium in AMA Pro American SuperBike race two of the Kawasaki Devil’s Showdown at New Jersey Motorsports Park. It was Sunday, September 14, 2014.

September 14, 2014 at 3:37.09 p.m. ET. AMA Pro American SuperBike race two just ended at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Martin Cardenas finished on the podium, then took the next decade off from AMA road racing.

Next week at Circuit of The Americas, Cardenas will make his return to AMA-sanctioned road racing when he participates in his first-ever MotoAmerica event. Ironically, Cardenas will join the other Supersport riders for Friday’s Practice 1 session just one day prior to the 10-year anniversary of the last time he raced in America.

With 27 AMA race wins including three AMA Superbike victories, Cardenas was also the 2010 and 2012 AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Champion. And, by the looks of Cardenas in the video produced by Top Pro Racing, the team for which Cardenas will race a Suzuki GSX-R750 next week, he looks exactly the same as he did a full decade ago.

Welcome back, Martin.
