Pacific Northwesterner David Kohlstaedt, who hasn’t raced in MotoAmerica since the final round of the 2021 SportbikeTrackGear, com Junior Cup Championship at Barber Motorsports Park last September, is returning to the series at Ridge Motorsports Park next weekend where he will move up to the Supersport class aboard a DMK Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R.
Kohlstaedt, who is 18 years old and hails from Puyallup, has been competing aboard his Kawasaki middleweight machine in WMRRA (Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association) race events this year, including a couple of race weekends at Ridge.
I am really excited to have the opportunity to race my Kawasaki ZX-6R in Supersport with MotoAmerica at Ridge Motorsports Park,” Kohlstaedt said. “I can’t wait to see all my MotoAmerica friends. I’m very stoked to be able to race at Ridge, which is my home track, and also at Laguna Seca, and see how well I can do against America’s best Supersport motorcycle racers.”
Kohlstaedt added that, if all goes well, he’d also like to race in MotoAmerica Supersport at Barber Motorsports Park in September, to wrap up his season.
Last year in Junior Cup, Kohlstaedt scored eight podium finishes aboard his Veloce Racing Kawasaki Ninja 400, including a season-best runner-up result at VIRginia International Raceway. He finished the year ranked fourth in the 2021 Junior Cup Championship.
