The following is from Robem Engineering…
Robem Engineering, in collaboration with RBoM Racing, will run a two-rider effort in the 2020 MotoAmerica Twins Cup Champions, and they have enlisted 2019 Liqui Moly Junior Cup racers Jackson Blackmon and Toby Khamsouk as the team’s riders. Blackmon and Khamsouk will contest the series on Robem-developed, third-generation Suzuki SV650 motorcycles.
18-year-old Blackmon got an early introduction to Twins Cup action at the final two rounds of the 2019 season, and he instantly proved to be competitive, nearly winning his inaugural race in New Jersey. The Rock Hill, South Carolina, rider recently completed another successful test at the WERA Grand National Finals that were held at Barber Motorsports Park, and he is looking forward to more off-season testing.
Banning, California’s Khamsouk, who is also 18 years old, has been competing in MotoAmerica’s Liqui Moly Junior Cup Championship–and the KTM RC Cup Championship that preceded it–for the past four years, and he is excited to move up to Twins Cup. Khamsouk’s lanky six-foot, one-inch stature should be better suited to the larger machinery, and his aggressive riding style should prove to be menacing to his Twins Cup competitors.
Khamsouk tested an older-model RBoM Racing SV650 at Barber Motorsports Park in September, the day after the final round of the 2019 MotoAmerica season, and he had exceptional results. Both Khamsouk and Blackmon expect to challenge for the 2020 MotoAmerica Twins Cup Championship.
Robem Engineering has been busy developing a variety of custom-machined parts for Twins Cup competitors, and the Ohio-based company will continue to refine their offerings throughout the 2020 season.
Development of the new-generation Suzuki SV650 has been a high priority for Robem Engineering with help from companies such as Millennium Technologies, ARacer USA, and Yoshimura R&D of America. Blud Lubricants will keep the engines running strong in 2020 as additional sponsorship is sought to support Robem Engineering’s mission to showcase some of North America’s best and brightest young road racing talent.
