GoFundMe.com Account Established For Family Of Bernat Martinez

Bernat Martinez

MotoAmerica team owners have created a GoFundMe.com account for the family of late Superbike racer Bernat Martinez.

International motorcycle road racing suffered a tragic loss on Sunday, July 19, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. At the start of MotoAmerica’s Superbike/Superstock 1000 race two, Spanish riders Bernat Martinez and Dani Rivas were involved in a six-bike accident and later died from their injuries.

Shortly after the accident, racing fan and track-day promoter Szymon Dziadzia established a GoFundMe.com account for Rivas. Now, Michelle Lindsay, owner of the TOBC Racing team, with help from other MotoAmerica team owners, has created an account to assist the family of Martinez and his girlfriend, Marieta, who accompanied Martinez at the races.

“One of the greatest things about this sport,” Lindsay said, “is the sense of community and the way we can and do all rally around each other. Rest in peace, Bernat Martinez. Your presence and determination will be greatly missed and not forgotten.”
