It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Team Hammer crew member Ben Fox. After being involved in a two-vehicle accident early in the morning this past Sunday, October 6, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Fox was taken to Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs. On October 9 at 6:35 p.m., the 52-year-old succumbed to his severe injuries.

A long-time member of Team Hammer, Fox most recently served as crew chief for Vision Wheel ECSTAR Suzuki Superbike rider Brandon Paasch. He was a gifted motorcycle technician and also a former racer himself. Fox was known for his stoic persona, which gave people a sense of accomplishment when they could get him to smile and/or laugh. He was a constant fixture in the MotoAmerica paddock, and he will be missed.

In recent times, Fox became very active aboard his one-wheel electric skateboard, and he would occasionally post on social media after rolling about town on his unusual form of transportation. It is especially poignant that he was on his skateboard, pursuing his passion when he was involved in a collision with a motorcyclist in Colorado Springs.

Ben is survived by his daughters Sydney and Evelyn Fox and his son John Fox, his parents Alex and Debra Downs, and his girlfriend Kim McIntyre.
