This year, Dunlop Motorcycle Tires is ready to go for its 33rd victory in the iconic Daytona 200, and they’re proud to announce that more riders have chosen to compete in the “The Great American Motorcycle Race” on Dunlop tires than the combined total of riders using any other brand of tire.

Following a successful two-day pre-Daytona test at Roebling Road Raceway earlier this week, more than 20 accomplished riders entered in the Daytona 200 have selected Dunlop Sportmax Slicks for the 57-lap race. Serving as the Official Tire of the MotoAmerica Championship since the series’ inaugural year in 2015, Dunlop’s commitment to excellence is mirrored by its dedicated team and reliable products. Last year’s Daytona 200 showcased the prowess of Dunlop riders and the performance of their tires, who not only dominated the race but also set new benchmarks in the record books.

Here are a few Dunlop highlights from last year’s Daytona 200:

  • Long-time Dunlop competitor Josh Herrin notched his second-consecutive Daytona 200 victory and his third 200 win overall
  • Herrin’s margin of victory was a gaudy 45 seconds over the runner-up finisher
  • Dunlop riders swept the Daytona 200 podium, as well as the top four finishing positions
  • Richie Escalante, aboard his Dunlop-shod Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki, set a new lap record of 1:47.833 in qualifying for Daytona 200
