Quick question: on MotoAmerica race weekends, what’s the most important thing to the team owners, teams, crew members, officials, MotoAmerica staff, and especially to the riders? RIDER SAFETY. Yes, it’s in all-caps. Yes, I’m shouting it.

Keeping our riders as safe as possible is of paramount importance because, if we don’t have riders, we don’t have races, and if we don’t have races, well, there is no MotoAmerica.
We regularly evaluate the overall safety of the racetracks on our schedule, we deploy soft barriers around the road courses, and we advocate for the quality and effectiveness of the personal safety gear that our riders wear. But, there is one very important part of our rider safety initiative that we need your help with.
Track marshals. They are our eyes, ears, and hands on the racetrack, watching for potential safety concerns with the bikes, track conditions, weather conditions, and more. And, whether it’s helping literally carry and wave the flags for us, assisting riders who have crashed or gone off the race course, or monitoring the riders and bikes for any equipment or mechanical issues, our track marshals are hugely important.
When you serve as a track marshal, you have the best seats in the house, whether you’re assigned to a corner, at a flagging station, on the starting grid, or along pit wall.

It’s an enviable position where you are part of the show, you might occasionally lay your hands on a downed motorcycle, you get to interact with the riders, and you receive the admiration of the MotoAmerica staff, race teams, and especially the riders themselves.
We need track marshals and volunteers for Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on May 2 through 4.
Serving as a track marshal is the most important way you can volunteer for MotoAmerica, but it is definitely not the only way. We also need grid volunteers (an easy introduction to helping MotoAmerica), technical control volunteers (helping to check that the bikes are safe and legal), and hospitality volunteers (to look after staff, teams, riders, and sponsors).

Track marshals will be paid for their work at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, but all volunteers receive the following:
- FREE entry to the event each day
- FREE extra entry ticket for another person as your guest
- FREE camping
- FREE lunches each day
- FREE MotoAmerica swag
- FREE Saturday night pizza party with guest speakers and lots of surprises
