One of the highlights of each MotoAmerica race weekend for the corner marshals and volunteers who give their time and effort to assist us in putting on the show is the Saturday night thank-you dinner. It’s an informal affair held under the canopy in our hospitality area, with pizza served, appreciation expressed, and lots of camaraderie shared by all.

At all of those dinners, a special guest is presented, who greets the workers, thanks them for their dedication and hard work, and shares a story or two with those in attendance.

For the final round of the 2024 season, at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati Superbike rider Josh Herrin took center stage at the dinner. Still clad in his racing leathers, Herrin was also wearing the Champion shirt that he was presented with earlier that afternoon. The newly crowned 2024 Superbike Champion had put in a race-winning performance that clinched his second premier-class title with one race left to go in the season.

Herrin obviously had lots of places to be and people to see—not to mention celebrating with his team—but he still took the time to spend a few minutes with a group of people that he appreciates just as much as the rest of us at MotoAmerica do. Our volunteers are invaluable to us, and they are the fuel that has powered us for the past 10 seasons.

From Josh Herrin and all of us at MotoAmerica, thank you, corner marshals and volunteers. As cliché as it might sound, it is entirely appropriate to say that we really and truly couldn’t do this without you.
