Although Tytlers Cycle Racing’s PJ Jacobsen didn’t break the lap record at New Jersey Motorsports Park this morning in Medallia Superbike final qualifying, he was fast enough to earn the first MotoAmerica Superbike pole position of his career on his BMW M1000 RR.
Jacobsen lapped at 1:20.103, just .297 off Cameron Beaubier’s lap record from 2019.
Jacobsen will start both Superbike races (today and tomorrow) from pole and will be joined by the Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing duo of Cameron Petersen and championship points leader Jake Gagne. Petersen was just .029 of a second from Jacobsen’s best with Gagne only .030 of a second from pole.
The man who trails Gagne by just a point in the 2022 MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship, Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC’s Danilo Petrucci, will start the races from the second row. He will be joined on the second row by Westby Racing’s Mathew Scholtz and Jacobsen’s Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Hector Barbera.
