Beginning as a Yamaha production motorcycle, the 2019 Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing YZF-R1 Superbike retains standard OEM pistons, rods, and valves per MotoAmerica Superbike regulations, while camshaft profiles, cylinder head decking, and porting are open for modification. The bike features a sophisticated Magneti Marelli MLE 240 electronics system that enables precise adjustment of the fuel and spark maps, performance strategies, and is also used for data collection purposes.
