As teams, riders, and MotoAmerica officials and personnel begin their trips to New Jersey for round nine of the 2019 MotoAmerica Championship, news has broken that a couple of riders will be racing in different environs this weekend.

Travis Wyman will move up to the EBC Brakes Superbike class for the final two rounds of the season, and he’ll be aboard the #240 Weir Everywhere Racing BMW S 1000 RR, which is essentially the same bike that he had been campaigning in Stock 1000 last year and most of this year. Wyman also raced his BMW in EBC Brakes Superbike at the Circuit of The Americas in April, and by special invitation from MotoAmerica, in EBC Brakes Superbike race two at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in July. Wyman finished 11th and ninth in race one and race two, respectively, at COTA, and he finished 12th in race two at Laguna Seca.

Meanwhile, Braeden Ortt, who was competing aboard the #30 Ortt Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R in Supersport, will be aboard the #30 Tuned Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 in Supersport at New Jersey. Ortt is reunited with Tuned Racing team owner Mike Pond, who he raced for in both 2017 and 2018. While competing for Tuned Racing, Ortt reached the podium twice in 2018, with a second-place result in Supersport race two at the MotoAmerica Championship of Virginia and a third-place finish in Supersport race two at the MotoAmerica Championship of Utah. The Canadian rider is currently ranked 11th in the 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport standings, and he has not reached the podium thus far in the season.
