Altus Motorsports Suzuki Team has announced new riders and partners for 2018 MotoAmerica Championship Series, including a multi-year agreement with Georgia-based beverage Supercharged “Natural Sports Drink.” The team will feature Miles Thornton and Jaret Nassaney in the Supersport class.
“Partnering with Supercharged is going to enable our team to contend for the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship title,” said team owner George Nassaney. “We will be working directly with Supercharged’s sales staff to grow distribution and sales in key markets across the United States. We have been looking for the right company to partner with and we found each other. We are Supercharged for 2018.”
Altus Motorsports Suzuki will consist of AMA Horizon Award winner Thornton, who has won multiple championships in AMA and WERA competition over the last 10 years. Thornton will be joined by Jaret Nassaney, who finished a best of 11th and 12th in the two races at New Jersey Motorsports Park last year. Both riders will contest the MotoAmerica Supersport Series.
The team will be led by crew chief Eric Gray, who has some 15 years of Superbike road racing experience with six of those spent working as a crew chief for Team Hammer.
Altus will also be fielding an entry in the new MotoAmerica Twins Cup Series with a Yamaha FZ07R built in house at Altus Motorsports by Andy Palmer. The Yamaha FZ07R will be available for lease at selected rounds with Palmer serving as the bike’s crew chief. Those interested in leasing the bike at any of the MotoAmerica rounds can contact Altus Motorsports at 888/477-1500.
