Fun times at Sonoma Raceway this weekend! We had decent pace on Friday, and managed to drop times every session leading up to the race. I qualified 17th on the grid, which is my best qualifying so far this year. I got a terrible start in Race 1, as I was in 26th at the end of the first lap. I put my head down and managed to finish 16th. I had mixed emotions at the end of the day, as I was happy with my pace but disappointed how I felt I shot myself in the foot from the get-go. On Sunday I really focused on getting a good start, and I probably had the best start of the year for me. Sadly I couldn’t hold quite the same pace as Saturday, and I only ended up finishing 19th. This is the first weekend this year where I managed to finish in the top 20 both races. Still not where I want to be, but I have to try and take the positive energy and keep the progress ball rolling into Pittsburgh! The Summer west coast races were fun, but I am glad to be back on my side of the map for the rest of the season! Thank you to all of my sponsors who helped me get here, I couldn’t do it without them.
