For the first time in the history of MotoAmerica, Cameron Beaubier isn’t the Motul Superbike Champion.
A champion in 2015 and 2016, Beaubier’s season was one of frustration for the man who is used to doing nothing but winning. The Californian won five races over the course of the season and was still technically in with a chance of taking the title when he was injured in race two at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. A shoulder injury forced Beaubier to miss the final four races of the season, but he still ended the championship ranked third. He also knows that he won the final three races of his season prior to the injury with a sweep of both races at Sonoma Raceway and a win in race one at Pittsburgh.
In all, Beaubier stood on the podium 12 times in 2017.
