Californian Bobby Fong put his Superstock 1000-spec Quicksilver/Latus Motors Racing Kawasaki ZX-10R on the MotoAmerica Motul Superbike podium twice in 2017 and it helped propel him to seventh overall in the championship while also netting him third in the Bazzaz Superstock Championship.
Fong’s season started with a bang in the season opener at Circuit of The Americas as he put the Kawasaki on the Superbike podium while winning the Superstock 1000 class. It was the second season in a row that Fong would make the Superbike podium at COTA and he would repeat the feat in the third round of the series, the Championship of Virginia, with another third-place finish and Superstock victory.
Fong could have finished higher, but his season was derailed somewhat with four non-finishes. When the points were tallied at season’s end, Fong was ranked seventh in the Motul Superbike Series with 160 points, just five points behind sixth-ranked Jake Lewis.
