MotoAmerica has announced that it has joined forces with Chive Charities to give back to the community via a fundraising event at the Cycle Gear Championship of Sonoma at Sonoma Raceway, August 10-12.
MotoAmerica will team with Chive Charities, an organization supporting first responders, veterans, special education initiatives and those with rare medical diagnoses, in an effort to reach a goal of $5000 over the course of the weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Part of the money raised will come from ticket sales where 25 percent of the general admission ticket price will be donated (http://motoamerica.com/sonoma).
The money will be raised in several different ways. For starters, limited-edition MotoAmerica/Chive Charities T-shirts will be available for purchase online at motoamericagear.com (http://bit.ly/ChiveatSonoma) of which 25 percent of the purchase price will be donated to Chive Charities to help reach the fundraising goal. Fans can also bid on auction items onsite at Sonoma Raceway with items to include a Roger Hayden signed Corsair-X Nicky-7 helmet donated by Arai Helmet Americas; an apparel/helmet package (helmet, shield and hoodie) from Bell Helmets and signed by Cameron Beaubier, Josh Herrin and Mathew Scholtz; a Suzuki leather jacket donated by Suzuki (and signed by Toni Elias and Roger Hayden); and a gift certificate for two tires ($350) and another for one tire ($150) from Dunlop; and Yamaha is donating the 60th Anniversary bodywork from JD Beach’s MotoAmerica 2015 Supersport Championship winning R6, signed by Beach. In addition, live moto-inspired art will be produced by artist Bill Patterson onsite in the Artist Village at Sonoma Raceway and will be up for auction both onsite and online (https://www.32auctions.com/motoamericachivecharities).
“We’ve heard good things about Chive Charities and we’re pleased to be joining forces with them to raise money at Sonoma Raceway,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “MotoAmerica is looking forward to giving back to the community with our goal of raising $5000 and we’d like to thank the sponsors, etc. who have helped with the products that will be auctioned off.”
